Our reaction is what activates every response and outcome; therefore if we pause before we speak, our words will be spoken from our heart in truth, instead of through our ego in defense.

  1. I find the pausing to be a benevolent practice merciful to both myself and the receipient of any thoughtless retorts on my part. I find it easier by and by to weed out the harmful replies as I see my ego more clearly in the pause. We do not usually consciously wish to inflict pain but unconsciously we place our anger on another. Pausing is good. Thank you for all your thoughtful words.

    • Gretchen you explained it exactly how I view it as well… I love how you worded how you see the ego within the pause! Nice to see you hope you are doing really well and that your health is great!
